Forgiveness Factor: Energy, Energy, Energy
Some days I watch the kiddo across the street ride her scooter. Some days she rides A LOT! Some days that tires me out. Where did my energy go?
How forgiving are you to yourself? Sometimes we can be harder on ourselves than we are on others. Sometimes we don't believe we deserve forgiveness or even a break.

How many times have I gotten stuck in my bitterness waiting for someone to apologize? Maybe you were taught that "forgiveness" starts when the person who hurt you says "I'm sorry". But what happens when they won't say "sorry" or can't say "sorry" or don't even remember they hurt us? Maybe we get stuck.

I have an awesome friend/relative that desires to help people be their best selves. One way he encourages people is through sharing "Ripples" (see UnleashRipples.com). As I was reading a Ripple today, I began to ponder how forgiveness can help us be our best selves.

As we struggle with people that hurt us, we can sometimes struggle with what they have said about us. I was fortunate to see The Color Purple at the Overture Center in Madison. In the show, Celie is brought up to believe she is ugly and deserving of people's anger and violence.

One place many people struggle to be their best selves is in their car. People who would never be disrespectful any other place find the freedom to gesture, shout, cuss and honk when they are driving.
